Roterra started with a dream to provide exceptional service with industry-leading quality at a fair price. 


In 1992, our group was founded as a metal manufacturing company.   Initially, we focused on the manufacturing of tension anchors, later to be called screw piles, and now known as helical piles.  Tension anchors were manufactured and distributed by our team to hundreds of installers throughout Canada before the modern advent of helical piles that are used for permanent foundation applications.

In 2003, Roterra, a well-known regional manufacturer, was approached by a leading energy producer, to manufacture and install helical piles for their refinery.  The entrepreneurial spirit led our team to invest in installation equipment and build out an engineering, field execution, and management team to support the turnkey solution offering of helical piles.  We started with one installation machine with 70,000 ft-lbs of torque and today have an expansive installation fleet.

As the helical pile industry continued to grow, Roterra continued to push the limits of the technology.  Like any burgeoning industry, the helical pile industry has not been without its challenges and in 2014 Roterra proactively transformed its business from a single product, albeit vertically integrated, company to a dynamic technology focused solution provider.

To build on one of our founding principles of providing industry leading quality, we certified our company to ISO 9001:2015 in 2016 before celebrating our 25th year in business.

Today, we provide deep foundation solutions throughout North America out of our locations in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and Houston, Texas, USA.  We design, engineer, manufacture, and install piling foundations for any application and industry.  We pride ourselves in our facilities, equipment and people and our portfolio of services include pile engineering, load testing, metal fabricating, helical piling, driven piling, bored piling and augercast (cfa) piling.  These services are backed by ISO 9001:2015 Certification.
