About the Role
The role of the Heavy Haul Driver is to transport company materials and equipment between office locations, suppliers, and project sites. The Heavy Haul Driver will plan travel routes, review applicable permits and corresponding load information, monitor hours of service and ensure safety and quality are consistently met and exceeded.
Requirements
RESPONSABILITIES:
Liaise with Logistics to effectively deliver equipment and materials safely to site
Maintain positive public image of the company with appropriate personal conduct and by operating company vehicles and equipment in a professional and courteous manner
Adhere to all policy and procedure provided by Operating Manuals and customer requirements
Contribute to the development and subsequent revision of Operating Manuals
Review and complete all relevant paperwork pertaining to bills of lading and permits
Maintain a legal driver’s logbook (ELD), safely drive and operate Roterra vehicles and equipment
Complete pre-trip, ad-hoc, and post-trip inspections and correct or report all defects immediately
Practice proper, legal load securement
Care for and maintain company vehicles and equipment to Roterra standards
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
6+ months of general labourer experience
CFA Rig Swamper, Soilmec or Casagrande experience an asset
Experience changing flight auger attachments and rigging CFA equipment an asset
Mechanical aptitude
Prior equipment operating experience an asset
Alberta class 1 driver’s license, driving abstract that contains no more than 5 demerit points and 1 collision
5+ Years of commercial driving experience
Ability to complete pre-employment drug & alcohol testing and 50 lbs. physical assessment
Ability to travel away from home for short periods of time and work weekends periodically
Safety certificates (CSTS, H2S Alive, Standard First Aid, etc.) an asset
Equipment operating experience an asset

Ability to satisfactorily complete all required SureHire pre-employment testing, including but not limited to, drug and alcohol testing, a medical questionnaire and a 50 lbs. back assessment
