Production Coordinator

About the Role

As a team member of the manufacturing shop, the Production Coordinator serves as a liaison between operations and manufacturing to ensure a smooth flow of work between departments. This position works directly with operations in scheduling production to correlate with project and customer deadlines, tracking materials through the manufacturing process and monitoring plant efficiency.

Requirements

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide input to plan and schedule resources including manpower and materials

  • Review and create job packages for all work orders including required drawings, product labels and material tracking documentation

  • Design required programs for CNC machinery

  • Schedule and monitor work orders through production to ensure deadlines are met

  • Report to operations on an ongoing basis to provide updates on current workload and project status

  • Completing first off inspections and identifying workflow problems to improve productivity and product quality

  • Examine and monitor documents and work processes to assess completeness, accuracy and conformance

  • Organizing, scanning and filing all workflow and procurement documentation according to work order number including but not limited to quality assurance reports, material testing reports, and material tracking forms

  • Source, purchase and maintain consumables from the shop

  • Assist with supervising, training, evaluating and motivating staff

  • Monitor and track maintenance of manufacturing equipment and machinery

  • Calculate and track daily and weekly production totals from shift production summary paperwork

  • Follow company policies and procedures regarding health, safety and environment.

  • Maintain safe and clean shop area by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

  • Working knowledge of shop data, AutoCAD or other drafting software an asset

  • Hands-on experience with measuring equipment such as tape measures, calipers and micrometers an asset

  • Post-secondary education in business, engineering, manufacturing or related discipline
