Edmonton Valley Zoo
In May 2018, The Valley Zoo. was looking for a piling contractor that could manufacture and install both bored and helical pile solutions for their expansion.
The final design required 2 pile types. The helical piles ranged from 9 to 18 feet with the majority of them being 4 ½” x 20’ c/w 2-1/2”x 14”. The helical piles were installed with a John Deere 200 series at a torque rate from 5,000 –115,000ft-lbs. The Bored piles ranged from 6.5m to 9.5m with a shaft diameter of 406mm and a cased length of around 6m.
