About the Role
The role of the Excavator Operator is to operator various excavators to assist the Drill Rig Operator in the completion of continuous flight auger (CFA) pile installation projects from beginning to end, ensuring all customer requirements are met. The Excavator Operator reports directly to the Drill Rig Operator to assure standards of safety and quality are consistently met and exceeded.
Requirements
DUTIES:
Operate various excavators to assist with the movement of dirt and concrete from completed piles
Work closely with the swampers on the ground to rig, hoist and install rebar cages into concrete piles using an excavator
Work with the Drill Rig Operator to rig, hoist and attach various diameters of flight augers as required for multiple diameter installation purposes
Operate company vehicles and equipment according to operating manuals and legal requirements
Participate in ongoing hazard assessments, daily toolbox meetings and complete safety documentation and paperwork as per company policy
Complete general site housekeeping duties
Maintain positive public image of the company with appropriate personal conduct and by operating company vehicles and equipment in a professional and courteous manner
Adhere to all company policies and procedures in relation to both safety and quality
Various other duties as required
EXPERIENCE & TESTING REQUIREMENTS:
5+ years of experience operating excavators, specifically bucket experience
Ability to complete required SureHire pre-employment testing, including but not limited to, drug and alcohol testing, a medical questionnaire, and a 50 lbs. back assessment
EDUCATION/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma
Alberta Class 5 (or higher) driver’s license, driving abstract that contains no more than 5 demerit points and 1 collision
CSTS 09 or CSTS 2020 and Global Ground Disturbance Level II
SKILLS:
Ability to multi-task and move between tasks as required
Ability to self-motivate in a repetitive working environment
Ability to follow direction
Punctual and reliable
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Sitting and standing for extended periods of time
Travelling away from home for periods of time
Repetitive tasks and duties
Working conditions contingent on weather
WAGE:
Salary: $28.00-$32.00 per hour
Additional pay:
Overtime pay
SCHEDULE:
10 hour shift
Monday to Friday
Weekend availability
